LIGHTING ANALYSIS ON FILM EXTRACT AND STILL IMAGE.

At the beginning under-lighting is being used as the lighting is coming from below the person giving of a distorted effect. This lighting is used very often through out the trailer and is usually very commonly used in horror or science-fiction films. There is also a lot of high-key lighting through out the trailer for example, at 0.17 when there is back lighting and the effects appear more realistic and depict a more dimly lit scene. Further on there is more under-lighting when the scene is outlining the fireworks, giving the audience a sense of suspicion and fear as it is as if the scene is coming towards the camera and the camera is going closer towards it. There is the at 0.36 a medium close shot of the lady and man, this has juxtapose and focuses on the lighting coming towards from behind them. At 0.55 there is high-key lighting again, focusing on the ladies face which has a great contrast with the background. The character's faces are well lit through out the trailer through mainly high-key lighting which gives the audience a chance to understand their facial expressions. The lighting also focuses greatly on the background emphasizing the importance of the scene.

In the imagine above we can clearly see that Top lighting has been used. This accentuates the features of the characters and also exaggerates the characters expressions as we can see they are expressing fear. It also emphasis's their eyes, although they show fear both the lady and man look glamorous. This still image is created by low-key lighting as the effects produce strong contrasts of light and dark and creates dramatic shadows.
