There has been a great increase in teenagers as well as
young adults abusing drugs in the areas of Southall-Ealing. As this has become
a great concern over the years MIND THE GAP magazine interviewers organised an
interview with Varinder Sharma MP of Southall-Ealing in order to gain the
answers to the questions which had been asked by the concerned readers.
Varinder Sharma made it clear that he is aware of the increase
in teenage drug abuse and understood many of the concerns towards it. He
specified that him and The Labour party have been discussing decisions towards Southall-Ealing
in order to help teenagers as well as the community as a whole.
The local MP also made it evident that there had previously
been immediate actions taken place in order to reduce teenage drug abuse. The
local councils and MP’s came together in order to discuss these issues. They
had managed to resolve some of these issues by blocking the alleyways between
roads as there has previously been evidence of drug use within the alleys.
Varinder Sharma understood the frustration of the local
parents as well as the teenagers and young adults as there is not much to do
around Southall-Ealing. He made it apparent to the MIND THE STEP interviewers that
there have been plans to have more social groups and SWAT teams. This action
will be taken place in order to reduce teenagers from drug abuse and to keep
them busy and entertained.
